One in Four Young Lawyers Doing Unpaid Work

One in four aspiring solicitors has done unpaid work experience for more than six months at a time, according to a new survey by the Law Society’s Junior Lawyers Division.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for Lawyers starting out to get a foot on the career ladder with many getting themselves into huge debt for a better chance at thier chosen job.

It is s a far cry from the all too familiar public perception that all or most lawyers are ‘fat cat’ lawyers, with many lawyers in reality struggling to pay off the debts accrued whilst studying.
