VULNERABLE WITNESSES AND PARTIES IN THE FAMILY COURTS:

New training toolkit for advocates

The Advocate’s Gateway has recently released a free toolkit on Vulnerable Witnesses and Parties in The Family Courts.

The toolkit contains information about vulnerable witnesses and is primarily intended for use by advocates as well as solicitors, social workers, guardians, the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (Cafcass) officers and judges.

The Advocates Gateway gives free access to practical, evidence-based guidance on vulnerable witnesses and defendants. It is hosted by the Advocacy Training Council and is managed by the ATC Vulnerable Witness Management Committee. The Committee is chaired by Professor Penny Cooper and includes representatives of the Advocacy Training Council, Judicial College, and Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates amongst others.
